AEW: Invest in African Energies 2025, the key event for the African energy sector
In 2025, African Energy Week (AEW): Invest in African Energies returns to Cape Town, South Africa, consolidating its status as the leading platform for energy deals, partnerships and capital investment in the African energy sector. This flagship event will be held from 29 September to 3 October at the Cape Town International Convention Center 2, in partnership with the South African government, S&P Global Commodity Insights and Afreximbank.
A sustainable energy future for Africa
With a line-up of industry leaders and experts dedicated to realising a sustainable energy future for the continent, AEW 2025 aims to address the challenges facing the sector while seizing the unique opportunities that Africa offers. With more than 125 million barrels of proven oil reserves, 620 trillion cubic feet of natural gas and abundant renewable resources, the continent has the potential to become a leading global energy player.
With Africa's energy demand expected to more than double by 2050, AEW 2025 aims to build a solid foundation for eradicating energy poverty by 2030. Through an influx of investment and innovation, the event aims to accelerate infrastructure development and create sustainable economic opportunities.
A unique platform for exchange and collaboration
AEW 2025 will feature workshops, discussions and presentations covering strategic topics such as investment in upstream development, regulatory policies, infrastructure strategies, the downstream sector and Africa's role in the global energy transition. The event will bring together industry visionaries, African governments, national oil companies and key players in the energy value chain.
With the 2024 edition featuring seven premium stages, five content stages, two technical hubs and a day of pre-event workshops, AEW 2025 promises an even more ambitious programme. Delegates will benefit from new project updates, investment opportunities and strategies aligned with Africa's energy and sustainable development goals.
A renewed commitment to the future
"AEW was created with a mission to make energy poverty a thing of the past by 2030. As the central pillar of Africa's energy sector, the conference provides an unprecedented platform to forge partnerships, share knowledge and drive progress," said NJ Ayuk, Executive Chairman of the African Energy Chamber. "We look forward to welcoming everyone back in 2025, with next year's edition promising to surpass all previous events."
Now entering its fifth year, AEW 2025 reaffirms its role as the premier platform for project operators, financiers, technology providers and government leaders to come together to shape Africa's energy future.
