Australian mining company Aurum Resources has announced the discovery of an additional 820,000 ounces of gold (approximately 25 tons) at its Boundiali gold project in Côte d'Ivoire. This announcement brings the total identified resources at the site to 2.41 million ounces, a significant increase of 50% from the initial estimate of 1.59 million ounces announced in December 2024.
The gold resources of the Boundiali project extend across six distinct deposits: BST1, BDT1, BDT2, BDT3, BMT1, and BMT3. According to data provided by Aurum, these deposits contain 1.81 million ounces classified as "presumed" and 600,000 ounces classified as "inferred." ." This mineral resource update (MRE) is part of an ambitious 100,000-meter diamond drilling program launched this year to further explore the site.
"This substantial growth is a direct result of our targeted and aggressive drilling campaign and underscores the immense potential of the project," said Caigen Wang, CEO of Aurum Resources. "The update of this MRE report reinforces our confidence in the continued strong growth of Boundiali, knowing that we have identified numerous targets that have yet to be tested by drilling."
Aurum Resources plans to publish a new mineral resource update before the end of 2025, incorporating the results of ongoing analyses. This data is expected to feed into a preliminary feasibility study (PFS), which is also expected to be completed by the end of 2025. This study, although less detailed than a full feasibility study, will assess the economic potential of the Boundiali project for large-scale development.
The Boundiali project is part of a dynamic development of the Ivorian mining sector, which continues to attract the attention of international investors. With this significant discovery, Aurum Resources is consolidating its position in the region and paving the way for potential exploitation that could contribute to the local and national economy.
The Australian company, which focuses on methodical and intensive exploration, says it is confident in the Boundiali project's ability to continue to reveal new resources. The results of the upcoming drilling campaigns will be decisive in confirming the scale of this deposit and its long-term economic impact.
