Although the oil deposits identified in Ivory Coast promise new resources for the state, negotiations with numerous partners are still ongoing.
As part of his visit to Qatar, Minister Sangafowa and his Qatari counterpart met in audience in Doha.
According to Minister Sangafowa, Qatar Energy has financial resources and proven experience in exploration on the continent.
"They have made two important oil and gas discoveries in Namibia. We have faith in the oil future of our country," said the Minister of Mines, Petroleum and Energy, Mamadou Sangafowa Coulibaly.
Until now, Ivory Coast has been a modest producer of hydrocarbons, with about 30,000 barrels per day, but last December, President Alassane Ouattara said his country would become a "major producer" of oil.
