Ghana: Tullow unveils its operational strategy for 2025.

Ahead of the publication of its 2024 annual results, Tullow Oil has unveiled key details of its exploration and development plans in Ghana for 2025, as well as confirming a new drilling campaign in Gabon.
As part of its strategy to maximise existing resources, Tullow Oil is currently conducting a 4D seismic survey of the Jubilee and TEN fields in Ghana. This advanced analysis aims to identify the best locations for future wells and to refine the drilling programme for the period 2025-2026. The aim is to better understand the pressure and movement of fluids in the reservoirs in order to optimise the exploitation of resources.
The drilling programme in Ghana is scheduled to start in May 2025, with the Noble Venturer rig drilling two wells on Jubilee: a producer and an injector. These wells are expected to come on stream in the third quarter of 2025, helping to maintain and potentially increase production from this major field. After a planned maintenance phase, the platform will resume operations in early 2026 to further expand production capacity.
Alongside its activities in Ghana, Tullow Oil is also planning to strengthen its presence in Gabon. The company has announced that it will drill the Falcon NE exploration prospect on the DE8 licence in the first half of 2025. The project, part of an infrastructure-led exploration (ILX) approach, aims to maximise the use of existing facilities to accelerate the monetisation of discoveries.
With these initiatives, Tullow Oil reaffirms its commitment to optimising its existing assets while pursuing expansion opportunities in key oil basins. The combination of advanced technology, rigorous planning and targeted investment positions the company for sustainable growth in the context of evolving oil markets.
Tullow Oil's annual results for 2024, expected shortly, should provide further details on the company's strategic trajectory and its production outlook for the coming years.
