Forvis Mazars marked its participation at Africa Energy Week (AEW) 2024 in Cape Town by hosting a flagship panel entitled "Investing in Energy in the MSGBC Region". The session, led by Ibra Ndiémé Ndiaye, Energy, Industry and Services Partner at Forvis Mazars, brought together key players in the energy industry to explore investment opportunities and strategies in this fast-growing region.

A session focusing on the energy future of the MSGBC region

During the panel discussion, Ibra Ndiémé Ndiaye highlighted the many assets that position the MSGBC region (Mauritania, Senegal, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau and Guinea-Conakry) as a global energy hub.

"The session highlighted the various assets, opportunities and forward-looking policies that make the MSGBC region a focal point for global energy investment. We were able to hear the commitment of governments, international operators and local players, all united by a vision of responsible and sustainable development", said Mr Ndiaye.

Discussions focused on the prospects for growth in the oil, gas and renewable energy sectors, highlighting the importance of balancing the exploitation of resources with respect for the environment.
