Côte d'Ivoire set to host SIREXE 2024: a major event for the extractive and energy industries

la Côte d’Ivoire s’apprête à accueillir le SIREXE 2024 : un événement majeur pour l’industrie extractive et énergétique

The countdown is on for the Salon International des Ressources Extractives et Énergétiques (SIREXE), which opens its doors this Wednesday 27 November at the Parc des Expositions in Abidjan. This first edition, under the theme "Sustainable development of the extractive and energy industries: what policies and strategies?", marks a decisive step for Côte d'Ivoire and West Africa.

A flagship event for Africa's energy and mining future

With more than 300 exhibitors expected to take part over an area of 7,000 m², SIREXE aims to become the must-attend event for the mining, oil and energy sectors. This five-day event, which will welcome more than 20,000 visitors, will be an exceptional showcase for promoting the extractive and energy wealth of the African continent, while attracting strategic national and international investment.

Norway, guest of honour at this first edition, will be sharing its cutting-edge expertise in the fields of hydrocarbons, electricity and sustainable technologies. This collaboration illustrates the show's desire to encourage North-South and South-South synergies to accelerate sustainable development.

Unprecedented investment opportunities

SIREXE 2024 is positioned as a unique platform for establishing partnerships and discovering innovations in the sector. Conferences, expert panels and B2B meetings will enable participants to discuss the latest technological advances, particularly in renewable energies and eco-responsible extraction methods.

Recent discoveries of offshore deposits Baleine and Calao have made Côte d'Ivoire a regional leader, making it even more attractive to investors. The country's ambitions, as set out in the National Development Plan 2021-2025, are to double the mining sector's contribution to GDP by 2025 and to achieve an energy mix composed of 45% renewable energies by 2030.

An initiative to serve the people

The show will also be open to the general public, offering interactive activities to raise awareness among young people and entrepreneurs of the opportunities in these growth sectors. The promotion of local content and the development of local skills will be at the heart of this first edition.

Robert Beugré Mambé, Prime Minister of Côte d'Ivoire, invites all players in the extractive and energy industries to take part in this historic moment: *Together, let's forge the future of the extractive and energy industries in Africa. Let's make SIREXE a resounding success!
