Ivory Coast to increase oil production

La Côte d’Ivoire va augmenter sa production de pétrole

Ivory Coast produced 9.3 million barrels of crude oil in 2022, up 6.01% from the previous year.

According to government spokesman Amadou Coulibaly, from January 1 to December 31, 2022, crude oil and natural gas production is estimated at 9.3 million barrels and 90.3 million BTUs, corresponding to flows of 25.5 thousand barrels per day of crude oil and 247.5 thousand BTUs per day of natural gas.

According to him, this performance is attributable to the start-up of new wells on the CI-27 offshore block combined with a higher availability of the Espoir offshore field facilities.

On the other hand, at the end of December 2022, duties issued on petroleum products were $125 million compared to $750 million for the same period in 2021, a decrease of 83.52%.

This decline is due to "a zero level of taxation on the main petroleum products from April to December 2022, induced by the non-repercussion of the increase in the price of petroleum products observed on the international market on the pump prices of the said products applied on the national territory," explains the government.
