On the sidelines of the inauguration ceremony of the recently re-elected president of Equatorial Guinea, the two countries renewed their agreements and decided to strengthen their cooperation in the oil sector.

"We agree to join efforts to increase the technical and scientific cooperation already initiated between Petróleos de Venezuela and Ecuatorial Guinea Petroleum. In addition to continuing to develop the exchange of experiences of our oil industries in favour of the economic and social development of our peoples," said the Venezuelan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Carlos Faría.

The Equatorial Guinean authorities also stress the importance of continuing this strategic alliance within the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries, as well as in the Forum of Gas Exporting Countries.
