Libya targets an 8% increase in oil production, aiming for the highest levels in over a decade
Major investments and collaborations in Libya's oil sector are paving the way for increased production and promising growth prospects.
According to Farhat Bengdara, Chairman of the National Oil Company (NOC), North Africa's largest oil producer expects to pump around 1.3 million barrels per day (MMbpd) by the end of the year. Bengdara mentioned in an interview that the implementation of measures such as avoiding field closures and improving oil workers' wages has already contributed to an increase in production of almost a quarter since January 2022, reaching a current level of 1.2 million barrels per day.
Historically, crude oil production in Libya has been hampered by internal conflict.
