Le Ghana et la Côte d'Ivoire cherche une piste pour le projet de gazoduc

Ghana and Ivory Coast have identified the need for a bi-directional pipeline to supply gas to both countries according to their demand profile.

To this end, the Ghana National Gas Company (GNGC) hosted an Ivorian delegation on to discuss the

projet de gazoduc bidirectionnel entre les deux pays. Le projet fait partie de « l’Accord de Partenariat Stratégique (APS) signé en 2017 par les chefs d’Etat des deux pays.

Ivory Coast was represented by a delegation led by Noumory Sidibe, Director General of CI-Energies and the Ghanaian side led by Dr Ben Asante, Managing Director of Ghana Gas.

Both countries have discovered oil and gas in significant commercial quantities, so there is a need for a bi-directional pipeline linking the loading and storage centres of these countries to supply gas to both countries according to demand.

At the meeting Dr Asante stressed the commitment and support of the Ghana National Gas Company for the success of the pipeline project. He explained that the gas supplied will be used for power generation and will also be used as a feedstock for fertiliser and for industrialization purposes for the benefit of Ghana and Ivory Coast.
