Le Nigeria et le Sénégal ont signé un protocole d'accord sur le développement du contenu local

The Nigerian Local Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) and the Technical Secretariat of the National Local Content Monitoring Committee (ST-CNSCL) signed in Lagos (SAIPEC 2023) a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the establishment of a framework for exchanges, sharing of knowledge and procedures, baseline studies, design of strategic plans for the implementation of local content in Senegal and other local content development initiatives at the African or sub-regional scale.

The agreement was reached at a meeting in Lagos between the Executive Secretary, Engr. Simbi Kesiye Wabote and Mor Ndiaye MBAYE, Technical Secretary of the National Local Content Monitoring Committee. This is part of Nigeria's strategic support for local content development on the African continent, which has already been extended to Ghana, Niger Republic, Uganda, Kenya, Gabon, Uganda and Congo Brazzaville.

Speaking after the meeting, the Executive Secretary had said that the MoU will provide the way forward for the details of the collaboration, stressing the need for cooperation between African countries for the sustainable development of the oil and gas industry on the continent.

He added that Nigeria has a lot of experience in developing local content and is well placed to support other African countries that have recently discovered hydrocarbon resources.

The Senegalese team led by Mor Ndiaye Mbaye, the technical secretary of the National Committee for Local Content in Senegal had said that Senegal is a new entrant in the hydrocarbon industry and wants to build local capacity and domesticate the key operations of the sector in the country. He added that they had decided to learn best practices in local content from Nigeria to make implementation in their jurisdiction a reality.
