Le Sénégal accueillera la 9e Conférence mondiale de l’ITIE du 13 au 14 juin 2023 sur le thème de « La transparence en transition ».
Ce faisant, ITIE Sénégal a convié la presse nationale autour d’un Ndogou pour discuter des contours de cet événement qui se tiendra pour la première fois en Afrique. Selon les propos de la Présidente du Comité national ITIE, c’est grâce aux résultats satisfaisants en terme de transparence étant « un bon élève » que le Sénégal a été choisi pour accueillir cette conférence internationale.
« Le fonctionnement du groupe multipartite ainsi que les réformes entreprises au cours de ces dernières années dans le secteur extractif ont participé à asseoir la bonne réputation du Sénégal“.

As a reminder, the conference is held every three years. It will be an opportunity to discuss issues, often problematic for Africa, in terms of transparency of extractive resources, to find ways and means to bring solutions in the extractive sector for the good of the population and also of impacted communities.
Reflections are expected over the two days to gather the views of high-level stakeholders, experts from government, industry, civil society, and academia, according to the chair of the communication committee, Ms Diassé.
This important global conference for Senegal will help capitalize on the gains in transparency and maximize the benefits on gas and oil that the country will benefit from.
