Technip Energies, a world leader in engineering and technologies for the energy transition, announced today that it has been awarded a significant contract to carry out preliminary activities for a floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) plant in Africa. The contract, estimated to be worth between $290 million and $584 million, will run until 30 September 2025.
A recognised specialist in FLNG units, Technip Energies has already delivered three offshore units worldwide, representing a total capacity of 8.2 million tonnes per year. These include PFLNG SATU in Malaysia, Prelude FLNG in Australia and Coral Sul FLNG in Mozambique, emblematic projects that testify to the company's expertise in this strategic sector.
"This major contract only covers preliminary activities. Additional orders are expected after contract award," said a Technip Energies spokesperson, adding that further details would be released at a later date.
This new project reinforces Technip Energies' position as a key player in the development of floating gas infrastructures, a rapidly expanding market in the face of growing demand for liquefied natural gas. The company continues to play a leading role in the global energy transition, offering innovative and sustainable solutions for the exploitation of energy resources.
