La SNPC assumera la présidence de la prochaine réunion de l’Organisation des producteurs de pétrole africains
The National Oil Company of Congo (SNPC) will chair the next meeting in Brazzaville of the African Petroleum Producers Organisation (APPO). This was agreed this week in Algiers during the meeting of its members for the 4th meeting of the managing directors of the organisation's national oil companies. Chaired by Toufik Hakkar, CEO of Sonatrach, the Algiers meeting put on the table several key points for cooperation and collaboration between the various national oil companies (SNH), members of the APPO.
The members of the African Petroleum Producers Organisation (APPO) were able, among other things, to discuss issues relating to the forthcoming establishment of an African Investment Bank, in partnership with Afreximbank, cross-border and regional infrastructure and the inclusion of local content in the various SNH.
They are planning their next meeting in six months' time, to be held in Brazzaville, to discuss issues related to the African oil industry and to take decisions on the organisation's policies and strategies. The meeting will be hosted by Maixent Raoul Ominga, Director General of SNPC.
In light of this announcement, the head of SNPC, Maixent Raoul Ominga, said: "I am pleased to announce that the National Oil Company of Congo will host the 5th meeting of the African Petroleum Producers Organisation. I am confident that the next meeting will be as productive and fruitful as the previous ones and will continue to promote cooperation, harmonisation and development for all APPO member SNHs. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our Algerian counterparts for their hospitality and warm welcome. We look forward to welcoming all APPO member delegations to Brazzaville very soon.
APPO Secretary General, Dr. Omar Farouk, also said: "We are pleased to hand over the rotating presidency to Mr. Maixent Raoul Ominga and the Société Nationale des Pétroles du Congo. We look forward to meeting again soon in Brazzaville and continuing the excellent work of the African Petroleum Producers Organisation. We are on the right track and I am convinced that by continuing on this path, we will continue to move our sector forward. On behalf of the APPO Secretariat, I thank Mr. Maixent Raoul Ominga and the SNPC for their dedication and commitment.
