"We want to make sure that local businesses also get their share of the oil and gas. So we welcome any international company that wants to come and create joint ventures with local SMEs, which will lead to a transfer of knowledge, because it's absolutely essential that local SMEs also have the capacity, in 5 to 10 years' time, to stand on their own two feet. We welcome investors coming to Senegal, because this is a very new sector for all of us, and they will certainly need the expertise and experience of the oil and gas industry, as well as their know-how. And finally, at some point in the long term, Senegal will be in a position to grab the ball and run with it.
