Côte d'Ivoire : CGG soutient les découvertes avec deux nouveaux projets de ré-imagerie 3D

French marine seismic company CGG, in collaboration with Côte d'Ivoire's Direction Générale des Hydrocarbures (DGH) and Petroci, has defined plans for two new multi-client 3D re-imaging programs offshore Africa.

The programs include phase I of the CDI24 (3,120 km²) and phase II (6,610 km²), both supported by the industry.

Phase I will start immediately, while Phase II is scheduled for the first half of 2025.

These new programs will be merged with the reimagined CDI23 data (6,430 km2) - originally marketed as PDSM 2023/2024 - to create a total continuous and contiguous volume of over 16,000 km², overlapping the recently announced Calao discovery and adjacent to the world-class discovery. Thanks to its advanced deghosting and FWI, Q-FWI, Q-Kirchhoff time-shift demultiple techniques, CGG aims to produce clearer images of deep structural zones not visible in existing data, as well as to image Cenomanian Hornbill and Carbonate Whale fairways at improved resolution.

"CGG is supporting the energy sector by using innovative imaging technology to create new value from existing seismic data in the region. These high-end re-imaged datasets will provide a comprehensive and highly accurate view of Côte d'Ivoire's potential, enabling the industry to reduce the risks associated with future exploration and unlock new energy reserves with confidence," said Dechun Lin, Executive Vice President, Earth Data, CGG.
