Libya, Angola and Nigeria top the ranking.
According to a ranking by Trading Economics, Libya, Angola and Nigeria are the top three African oil-producing countries in 2023.
Libya, ranked 15th worldwide, produced 1.173 million barrels per day (bbl/d) in July 2023. Angola, ranked 16th worldwide, produced 1.149 million bbl/d. Nigeria, 17th worldwide, produced 1.081 million bbl/d.
Algeria and Egypt complete the top 5, with 955 and 565 million bbl/d respectively.
The other countries in the top 10 are the Republic of Congo-Brazzaville (282 thousand bbl/d), Gabon (193 thousand bbl/d), Sudan (187 thousand bbl/d), Ghana (173 thousand bbl/d) and Chad (88 thousand bbl/d).
