Angola: TMC compressors to supply equipment for Agogo FPSO.
Malaysian FPSO rental company Yinson Production has appointed TMC Compressors to supply a large marine compressed air system for the FPSO Agogo, to be operated by Azule Energy, a BP-Eni joint venture, on a development offshore Angola.
Under the contract, the value of which was not disclosed, TMC will supply a high-capacity marine compressed air system including compressors for control and service air on board the Agogo FPSO.
The company will manufacture and assemble the equipment in Europe, and deliver it to the conversion yard chosen by Yinson Production.
Yinson Production has been awarded a $5.3 billion contract by Eni Angola to supply and maintain an Agogo FPSO in February 2023. The contract has a firm duration of 15 years from the date of final acceptance of the FPSO, with an option to extend for a further five years.
The Agogo FPSO is scheduled to begin operations in the fourth quarter of 2025 in the West Hub field on Block 15/06 offshore Angola.
TMC's marine compressed air system is designed specifically for offshore and marine use. The compressors have been developed to enable the ship's crew to carry out maintenance themselves.
"Yinson Production is an experienced FPSO operator that we are proud to have on our customer list. Flying technicians offshore is a costly exercise. So it makes sense to allow the ship's crew to carry out the maintenance," said Hans Petter Tanum, TMC's Director of Sales and Business Development.
