Antoine Félix Abdoulaye Diome, Senegal's Minister of Petroleum and Energy, is actively participating in COP28, currently taking place in Dubai, to promote Senegal's energy policy. He has marked his presence with several speeches and meetings with key figures in the energy sector.

At an important panel, he represented President Macky Sall, discussing global efforts to limit global temperature rise to 1.5°C. He took the opportunity to underline Senegal's commitment to the fight against climate change, referring to the President's words, which emphasized reconciling economic development and environmental conservation.

In addition, Antoine Diome led a session on the implementation of Senegal's Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP). He emphasized the importance of meeting financial commitments, promoting technology transfer and valorizing local content.

The Minister also led a debate on the use of coal, while presenting Senegal's energy strategy, which favors natural gas as a transitional energy source.

At a panel discussion organized by Germany, he addressed the social dimension of the energy transition, stressing its importance in guaranteeing access to electricity at affordable rates and strengthening the competitiveness of businesses, thus contributing to the well-being of workers and promoting youth employment.
