Sénégal : Axess Group remporte un contrat d'inspection pour le FPSO LSS de Sangomar

Axess Group, a company specializing in inspection and certification services, recently achieved a major milestone by winning a long-term inspection contract with MODEC, a leading company in the energy sector. The contract specifically concerns the Léopold Sédar Senghor FPSO (Floating Production, Storage and Offloading) in Senegal's Sangomar field, which marks the country's first offshore oil development. This collaboration between Axess Group and MODEC represents a significant step forward in the field of oil development in West Africa.

The award of this contract is not an isolated event. It follows a series of successful baseline studies carried out by Axess Group in China and Singapore during the FPSO construction phase. The services provided under this contract are diverse, covering a wide range of technical and safety requirements. They include annual certification of lifting equipment, DROPS studies, implementation of corrective measures, as well as technical assistance for all rigging operations on site.

In parallel with this contract, Axess Group, through its local subsidiary Axess Gainde Sénégal, has launched a remarkable initiative to promote sustainable growth and the development of local skills. This initiative takes the form of a training program specially designed for Senegalese engineers and technicians. The aim of the program is to equip them with the skills and knowledge they need to work effectively on projects with MODEC and other international customers. An integral part of this training includes visits to other Axess entities in Africa, enabling participants to immerse themselves in the Axess corporate culture and exchange knowledge and experience with their counterparts. This approach aims to strengthen Axess Group's local team in Senegal, reducing the need for international mobilizations and contributing to the company's global strategy to minimize its carbon footprint.

Matthew Trichardt, Regional Director for North West Africa at Axess Group, emphasized the importance of this contract for the company. He expressed his pride and satisfaction at seeing Axess Group gain the confidence of MODEC, a partnership that has been solidified through successful collaborations on 11 of their assets over the past five years. This contract marks not only a key step in Axess Group's expansion in Africa, but also a milestone in their commitment to delivering significant added value to their partners and customers.

The Léopold Sédar Senghor FPSO, which will be deployed around 100 km south of Dakar, Senegal, is positioned to play a crucial role in the exploration and exploitation of the Sangomar field. This project is of paramount importance for Senegal, as it symbolizes the beginning of the exploitation of its offshore oil resources, opening a new chapter in the country's economy and energy industry.
